Meet the owners at The Art of Learning


Jaimie Lutwyche

Jaimie was born and raised in Westchester.  She graduated from Walter Panas High School, class of 2003, in Cortlandt Manor.  Her education continued at Pace University’s Pforzheimer’s Honors College, as well as The University of Rome-La Sapienza.  She received a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies. Additionally, Jaimie was inducted into the Golden Key Honors Society, a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, received awards for writing, held a seat on the board of Women’s and Gender Studies and also maintained the status as a Society of Fellows Dyson College Associate.  She has recently completed her Masters at Lehman College and has received a degree in Adolescent English Education and Special Education. Jaimie is new a New York State certified teacher.

Since September of 2007, Jaimie has worked in the elementary schools for Lakeland Central School District.  She has aided in the education of technology to students ages 5-11, as well as staff.  Additionally, Jaimie has maintained one of the school’s webpages, newsletters and helped with the Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports program, which aimed to develop character education for children.  Jaimie has been tutoring and editing papers since graduating college. In her free time she enjoys traveling, hiking and spending time with her family and dog.


Tommy Simmons


Tom was born in the Bronx and moved to Westchester when he was eight years old and graduated from Walter Panas High School in 2002. Tom has been performing since he was in 7th grade where he was involved in Jazz Band as well as two of his own rock bands. During high school Tom continued to pursue music and attended Chorus and Theory classes as well his own musical endeavors and continuing Jazz Band. By late high school Tom had independently released 3 albums ranging from Funk to Rock had begun to play major venues in the area and enrolled himself in the W.I.S.E. Program as an intern for the Putnam Valley High School music program. After High School Tom hit the road and became very serious about his music career. With releases via iTunes, Xbox 360's Rock Band, Pandora and Spotify as well as touring nationally and landing himself a spot on the Vans Warped Tour while at the same time completeing his degree in Performing Arts from WCC. Since then Tom has been teaching at the Karafin School in Mt. Kisco as well as privately all through out homes in southern Westchester. He is currently recording and performing regularly.
